PATTERNS FOR MAKING HATS
TIPS FOR HAT-MAKING
You may want to vary these patterns a bit (add or subtract an increase row or use a
different size hook/needle size) to accommodate different types of yarn. A variety of
sizes are needed (children’s size 4-adults).
Any colors will do, as boys will be receiving hats too. Use up 1/2 skeins of yarn left
from other projects, even doing a band of a different color, if you like. Use 2 strands
of baby or sport yarn knitted or crocheted together.
Feel free to use other patterns. They can have a folded-up brim, but skip pompoms
as they seem to be out of style.
