For over 15 years, from Mexican colonias in Tijuana (Granjas, Tres de Octubre, Valle Verde) to her current project in the village of San Vicente, Lori has taught hundreds of Mexican women to sew.
Since 2007, Lori has conducted regular and on-going classes for dozens of women in San Vicente, both long-term learners and beginners.
Having grown up in a 4-H community and learned as a young child herself, Lori loves to teach this very practical skill to willing teens and women as part of her missionary work.
It is hoped this project/ministry will establish a micro-enterprise industry for the Mexican women to produce financial incomes and help their families.
More than financial, the self-esteem and increased sense of purpose evidenced in the women has been noted by Christian leaders in San Vicente.
The current project is in partnership with Iglesia del Nazareno en San Vicente and Clinica El Buen Pastor of Mexican Medical ministries. These classes are at no cost to the participants.
